There are two discounts that you can get depending on your geographical location. If you’re in the US, you can apply for the Amazon Prime student discount, and if you’re in India, you can apply for the Prime youth discount provided you are between 18-24 years of age.
Prime Student offer in USA
The Amazon Prime student discount gives the standard Prime membership at 50% off to students currently enrolled in at least one class in an eligible college or university.
The program also offers additional benefits such as free good delivery, up to 10% off on flights and hotels booked through Student Universe and a one-month free subscription to Course Hero. Furthermore, students also get exclusive deals on college essentials, including computers, peripherals, video games, apparel and accessories and health and personal care products.
The Prime student monthly plans come in at just $7.49, half of what you’ll pay if you have a regular Prime subscription. The annual plan comes in at $69 per year. Students can also get up to six months of free trial subscription courtesy of Sprint.
Prime Student offer in India
If you’re not a student and are under 24 years of age in India, Amazon also has a youth program for customers between 18-24 years of age. The program offers similar benefits: a Prime subscription at 50% off. The offer, however, can only be availed on the Amazon app.
The exact steps for availing the discount can vary from person to person as Amazon likes to keep switching things around in its Android and iOS apps. However, you should see the offer show up when you’re signing up for a Prime subscription, provided you haven’t already used the benefit.

Here’s how you can sign up for both discounts.
In the US
Signing up for the student discount is relatively easy. Just head over to Amazon’s Prime Student Discount site and fill out the required information. You can also sign-up using your .edu email address from your university or college.
In India
If you’re in India, you can download the Amazon app and try getting a Prime subscription. If you haven’t used the discount already, you should see an option for availing it at checkout.
