Raymond Ltd., a leading real estate and lifestyle firm in India, has disclosed a cybersecurity incident that impacted the company’s IT assets. The firm confirmed in a regulatory filing on Wednesday that the affected system has been isolated, and its core operations remain intact.
According to the firm, the breach did not disrupt customer or store operations, which continue to function as usual. The company emphasised that its internal technical team, in collaboration with cybersecurity experts, responded promptly to mitigate the impact and secure the affected infrastructure, reports PTI.
“None of our customer operations and store operations have been affected and the same are up and running normally,” Raymond stated. “The company is investigating the matter and appropriate containment and remediation actions are being taken in a controlled manner to address the incident.”
India has become a major target for hackers due to its large population and increasing internet penetration. However, the same cannot be said for the country’s technical knowledge and cyber security awareness.

Last year, India faced over 369 million cyber attacks. This means threat actors targeted the country’s citizens 702 times per minute.
In December, over 1,800 records of Rapido users and drivers were found to be exposed. In 2025, Indian edtech platforms Wissenhive, SkilloVilla, and Physics Wallah faced alleged cyber incidents. However, neither platform provided an official explanation for the incident.
Similarly, the Indian insurance company Let’s Secure suffered a ransomware attack. The country’s insurance sector is quite large and stores sensitive financial and personal details of citizens.
Banks and hospitals were also targeted. For instance, Bethany Hospital suffered a ransomware breach orchestrated by the Space Bears cybercrime group. In January 2025, Bashe hackers allegedly breached ICICI Bank. However, Bashe is known to take fake credit, and the hack was never verified.
Government sectors weren’t far behind. The Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission suffered a major data breach, comprising 89,294. Ransomware gangs also targeted Madhya Pradesh’s child welfare agency.
