To create the link, you will have to type the following code, either in your friend’s message box or on a group — https://wa.me/<yournumber>. This is the Click to chat feature of Whatsapp where the users can click on the link and chat.

However, there are some points that you have to remember.

Your phone number must be registered on WhatsApp.
You should omit some characters such as zeros prefixed on area codes, brackets, plus sign as well as dashes.

So, let us say that your country code is +91 and your number is 9999999999, the code that you will write should look something like — https://wa.me/919999999999. Note that I have omitted the plus sign before the country code.

Once you are done with the code, hit send. Now, click on the code to send Whatsapp messages to yourself.

If you want to keep the link private and hidden, then you can make a group on WhatsApp with a minimum of one more contact besides yourself. After that, you can remove the other person and then type the link.
