Snapchat is a rather popular messaging app primarily for its privacy-focused features such as disappearing messages and screenshot notifications. People have been trying to go around these restrictions ever since the app came out in 2011, but the developers keep adding countermeasures.
In this article, we’re looking at how to take screenshots on Snapchat without the other person knowing.

Taking Snapchat screenshots
Let’s get one thing right; you can’t take screenshots on Snapchat without alerting the other user, at least on iOS.
iOS’ native screen record feature was used to get around this restriction by recording the entire screen, but as of May 2021, this is no longer possible.
You may be able to record any snaps or messages you’ve received, but the other user will get a notification saying you have screen recorded their snap.
On Android, you might still be able to get away with this, using either your phone’s in-built screen recorder (available on Android 10 and later) or using a third-party screen recording app from the Playstore if your phone doesn’t have the in-built screen recording option.
However, keep in mind that even if you screen record using an app that isn’t giving out any screen recording notifications to Snapchat, there might be instances where the other person might receive a notification, so proceed at your own risk.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the old workaround of enabling Aeroplane mode and then taking a screenshot doesn’t work anymore. Regardless of whether your phone has internet connectivity or not, Snapchat will register a screenshot notification and send it to the other user as soon as you get internet access on your phone again.
