In this article, we will clear all your doubts regarding tenacity in League of Legends.
What is Tenacity in League of Legends?
Tenacity is a stat in League of Legends that reduces the duration and effectiveness of all incoming Crowd Control (CC) attacks except the following ones:
So, if your opponent tries to attack you with gimmicks like stun or silence, then tenacity will reduce the duration of these spells and you will likely survive the encounter.
Let us understand this with an example. Suppose you are an ADC and got hit by Morgana’s Dark Binding or Lux’s binding. If you don’t possess any tenacity item, then Dark Binding will last a full 3 seconds which is enough to kill your champion. However, if you possess the tenacity rune or have purchased items that increase tenacity, Dark Binding will be ineffective and will last for only half the time.

What are the new updates to Legend: Tenacity?
Recently, Riot brought out a patch for Season 13 of LoL. In this patch, they have nerfed the Legend: Tenacity rune.
Riot decreased the tenacity per Legend stack from 5% (+2.5% per Legend stack) to 5% (+1.5% per Legend stack).
Moreover, Riots also decreased maximum tenacity at full stacks from 30% to 20%.
Announcing the changes to Tenacity, Riot Games said, “In its current state, Legend: Tenacity is a legendary source of Tenacity in the game. Especially when it comes to fighters where it’s the optimal rune in its row when running standard keystones. Currently, champions are taking this rune into CC-reliant matchups as a way to avoid Merc Treads and invest in other stats. That, combined with the fact that Legend: Tenacity far surpasses Unflinching in terms of power meant that this rune needed a sizable amount of power removed from it”.
