Why are you seeing the vex input error resetting vex lock?

As explained earlier, you will see this message while attempting to complete the headlong mission in Destiny 2. The headlong mission is one of the toughest missions of the game and many players have scratched their heads while attempting to solve Vex puzzles.

In the headlong mission, you will engage in intense combat with numerous Vex enemies using the power of the Strand. Along the way, you will encounter intriguing lock puzzles that are directly connected to barriers obstructing your path.

Once you have deciphered the lock code, your next task is to eliminate a combination of Cation Harpies and regular Anion Harpies that match the pattern in the lock code. It is important to eliminate these Harpies in the correct order to prevent any complications. If the Harpies are not defeated in the precise order indicated by the lock code, the puzzle lock will reset, and all the Harpies will respawn.

While killing the harpies, players see a message that goes something like – vex input error resetting vex lock. This means that you have killed the harpies in the wrong order, thus resetting the puzzle lock.
