World of Warcraft is a massively popular online multiplayer game released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment and it is the fourth set in the Warcraft universe.

If you’re thinking about purchasing the game but aren’t sure if your Windows or Mac machine will be able to run it properly, here are the minimum and maximum requirements for World of Warcraft on Windows and Mac.

Minimum

  • OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8100 or Intel i5-760 or newer
  • RAM: 4GB RAM (For integrated graphics like Intel HD graphics series 8GB RAM is required)
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7850 (2GB) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 (2GB) or Intel HD Graphics 530 with 8GB system RAM
  • Storage: 70GB of free Hard disk space
  • Active internet connection required

Recommended

  • OS: Windows 7/8/10 (64-bit)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8310 or Intel i7-4770 or newer
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 280 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (4GB) or newer
  • Storage: 70GB of free SSD space.
  • Active internet connection required

Minimum

  • OS: macOS 10.12 or latest
  • Processor: Intel i5-760 or newer
  • RAM: 4GB RAM
  • Graphics: 2GB VRAM with Metal capable GPU; AMD Radeon R9 M290 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M or Intel HD 530 or newer
  • Storage: 70GB of free Hard disk space
  • Active internet connection required

Recommended

  • OS: macOS 10.13 or latest
  • Processor: Intel i7-4770 or newer
  • RAM: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: 4GB VRAM with Metal capable GPU; AMD Radeon R9 M395X or newer
  • Storage: 70GB of free SSD space.
  • Active internet connection required

Like other online games, World of Warcraft also requires a fast internet connection to not get spikes in latency, leading to lag and a loss of your sanity as a result. So, in addition to the recommended system requirements for World of Warcraft mentioned above, it’s essential that you also have a good and reliable internet connection. Even if the internet connection is fast but drops speed or connection frequently, your game experience won’t be as smooth when playing any online game.
