What causes the YouTube Invalid Response Received error?

The error can honestly be triggered by several reasons, including an account timeout, which happens when a video is taking too long to load; it can be triggered by a faulty video downloading extension as well as your account being unverified. Another relatively common cause for the error is that you’re signed into another account while uploading a video to another account.

How to fix the error?

Here are a few solutions you can try out to see if that resolves your problem.

Refresh the page

The first thing you should do is try and refresh the page after getting the error. A simple page refresh can solve a lot of seemingly random problems with websites. It fetches all the resources it needs to render the page in your browser from the server, again overriding any corrupt files that may be causing problems in the process.

Check your accounts

Youtube uploads can take some time, especially if you’re uploading a high-resolution video or have a slow internet connection. In such cases, if you leave an upload running on one account and open another account in another browser tab, the error can get triggered.

So try restarting your upload with the account you want and stay there until the upload finishes before logging into any other accounts you might want to access.

Check your extensions

Having a corrupt or improper Youtube video downloading extension can also trigger this error. So if you’re trying to download a Youtube video, either try an online service or use an alternative extension to see if that solves your problem.

Verify your YouTube account

Several users have reported that after verifying their Youtube accounts, any upload issues that they were facing were gone. So you can head over to this link to initiate account verification and from there on verifying your phone number or email address or anything else that Youtube wants information on, and you should be good to go.

Try using desktop mode

If you’re trying to access Youtube from your phone, we recommend doing it from the Youtube app, as doing so on the browser can worsen your experience and cause errors like this. However, if you still want to use a browser, here’s how you can activate the desktop mode.
