Ozark
Starring Jason Bateman, Ozark follows the story of a businessman with a crumbling personal life who is held accountable for the deeds of his dearest friend by the Mafia. He must now plan quickly to save his family and launder money for the dangerous client while also avoiding cops and the wrath of other drug lords. The series currently has two seasons, with more to come. You’re missing out if you don’t watch it.
Black Mirror
Stranger Things
One of the most popular titles to come out of the Netflix Originals studio, Stranger Things follows the story of Will Byers and his group of friends including an escapee from a secret government facility who possesses supernatural powers. Will Byers gets caught in the Upside Down — sort of a parallel universe — and with the help of their new friend with superpowers — Eleven — the kids manage to find Will but there is a price to pay to get him back.

Ghoul
The mini-series, starring Radhika Apte and Manav Kaul, follows the story of a prisoner who displays weird behaviour and makes the inmates as well as the prison guard turn against each other. The horror flick also has hints of an Orwellian society and how a ‘Ghoul’ was summoned to restore balance. With just three episodes, this series is a must watch.
Designated Survivor
A bomb attack kills the entire top-level politicians, including the President of USA, and a cabinet member — played by Kiefer Sutherland — who is not on anyone’s favourite list must gear up to head the country at the time of crisis against all the odds. Follow the story of Tom Kirkman as he matches wits against more experienced politicians.
Sex Education
Sex Education is a quirky, comedy teen drama about the protagonist Eric, his gay pal Otis, his sex therapist mother and his crush Maeve. Eric can’t get his up, but he’s not the only one who can’t, and Maeve figures it out and turns it into a business. The good news is that Sex Education is getting the second season too.
Sacred Games
Another crime thriller to join the list, Sacred Games follows the story of an average cop, Sartaj Singh (played by Saif Ali Khan), whose life turns upside down after he receives a mysterious phone call from an anonymous caller who turns out to be a dangerous criminal. The caller tells the cop that he has 25 days to find out the threat against his city. The second season will be out soon too.
A Series of Unfortunate Events
A much-awaited reprise of the title for all fans of the book by Lemony Snicket and movie by the same name. A Series of Unfortunate Events follows the story of three orphans — Baudelaire children — whose parents die mysteriously and these three are put into the custody of an evil relative — Count Olaf (played by Neil Patrick Harris — who wants to get his hands on the Baudelaire family inheritance. The only thing standing in his way now is the three kids who happen to be in his custody.
You
You is an intriguing tale that is shot from the perspective of a stalker — all the things that go on in his mind and how he perceives the one he is victimising. It is a very interesting and unique take on how the stalker’s obsession makes him do everything to get close to the subject using social media and the internet as well as removing any obstacle in the way of getting her.
Fyre
Fyre: The greatest party that never happened follows the story of ‘Fyre’, a music festival that was supposed to be one of the biggest and the most luxurious one in the world and how it failed spectacularly — mostly owed to an overconfident owner who sold the idea but couldn’t live up to the expectations.
The Alienist
Based on the book by the same name by Caleb Carr, The Alienist is a classic thriller set in late 19th century New York. Several ritualistic killings of male prostitutes has shaken the city and criminal psychologist Dr Laszlo Kreizler (played by Daniel Bruhl), accompanied by newspaper illustrator John Moore (played by Luke Evans) and secretary at the police department Sara Howard (played by Dakota Fanning) set out to catch the killer before another one is killed.
Unsolved: The murder of Tupac and Biggie
The series follows the story of the police investigation about the murders of the famous musicians Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G, both of which remain unsolved till date.
13 Reasons Why
13 Reasons Why is a heart-wrenching story of a teenager Hannah who commits suicide but leaves behind a series of 13 tapes naming all the people in it that led her to the moment that she took her own life.
House of Cards
The political drama that follows the story of Frank and Claire Underwood, a conniving duo who rise to power from the lower echelons of politics and exact revenge on the people who betrayed them when they were trying to rise to power.
Wild Wild Country
Wild Wild Country is a documentary on the famous spiritual guru Shree Rajneesh (also known as Osho) and his secretary Ma Anand Sheela, who are driven out of their home country India but find a new home in Oregon, USA in 1981 and form one of the biggest communities in the world at the time who weren’t very well received by locals and led to a lot of controversies.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is an Academy Award-nominated anthology of six short movies by Coen brothers starring James Franco, Liam Neeson, Tim Blake Nelson and more. Set in 19th century USA, the movie follows the tale of life surrounded by violence in each segment of the movie. All of them are beautifully shot and acted. The movie was also well-received by the critics.
Fauda
Follow the story of Doron, a retired Israel Defense Force operative who gets back into the thick of the action after learning that one of the most dangerous enemies that he thought his unit had killed has resurfaced. A failed undercover mission makes the team exposed and a fast paced and thrilling series of events follow.
American Vandal
A satirical take on the ever-popular crime series genre, American Vandal follows two different stories of high school pranks in the two seasons. Although a satire, the series doesn’t give away the real culprit until the very end. The story is told from the perspective of two aspiring student documentarians.
Birdbox
Starring Sandra Bullock, this sci-fi thriller drama is set in a world where a mysterious force is driving anyone who sees it to commit suicide. A woman alongwith her children embarks on a journey to find a safe-haven after receiving a radio message from someone. Follow their intense journey in this two-hour long thriller.
Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj
In his own way, the award-winning comic investigates and explores different trends around the world that are affecting a large number of people. The Sinner
A two-part series, The Sinner, follows the story of a detective who solves crimes in this intense crime drama. There are two seasons out right now and each of them follows the story of a different case. The first story is a gripping tale of a regular woman who murders someone at the beach in a fit of rage but doesn’t remember anything about the person and why she murdered him until her past life starts unravelling. The second story is of a young boy that confesses to the murder of his parents, who later are revealed to be not his parents.
Dirty Money
Another intriguing series from Netflix, Dirty Money follows different stories of corporates including Volkswagen, HSBC, Valeant, Donald Trump and explains how they have failed the people who trusted in them.

An Academy Award Winner for the Best Short Documentary, Period follows the story of a group of women in rural India (Hapur, Haryana) and their fight against the stigma surrounding menstruation and how they began manufacturing sanitary pads at a low cost and start their journey towards financial independence as well.

A Netflix Original series in collaboration with Vox, Explained true to its title talks about a lot of topics including Designer DNA, Cricket, eSports, Cryptocurrency, Racial Wealth Gap, Stock Market, Extra Terrestrial life, Weed and a lot more — giving the viewers an insight into the topics in short 15-20 minute episodes.
