You may like dark modes if you’re not fond of your computer flashing with bright white light from a lot of native websites. YouTube is the latest of these applications or company that has added this Dark Mode feature, and you can activate it instantly. Earlier, this was a much more complicated method which required coding and Google Chrome.
YouTube seems to have seen the demand for this new feature and added it to their ecosystem. Both the iOS and Android apps of support this feature too.
Dark Mode feature is merely a cosmetic change on the website or app and has no additional benefits. It may help save battery on phones with OLED displays and cause lesser strain to the eye because of the darker theme.

How to activate/deactivate YouTube’s Dark Mode
Windows/Mac
Open Chrome or any other browser of your choice and visit YouTube’s website and log in with your Google account. Click on your profile picture located at the top right corner of the website. Look for the option Dark Theme: Off and click on it. You will see a toggle to turn it on/off.
Android
iOS
Tap on your profile picture located on the top-right corner of the YouTube app for iOS. In the next window, tap on Settings. Here you will see a toggle button for Dark theme, tap on it to activate the dark theme.
