Apple's new iPod Touch with Group FaceTime and AR: Price and Features

Apple announced the new iPod touch powered by A10 Fusion chip that’ll deliver more power for user’s gaming needs as well as enable immersive Augmented Reality (AR) experience and Group FaceTime.

The new iPod touch starts at $199 — making it a suitable lightweight alternative for enjoying music, games and more while on-the-go. It is available on apple.com and in Apple Store app starting today. iPod touch will also be available in brick and mortar stores later this week.

“We’re making the most affordable iOS device even better with a performance that is twice as fast as before, Group FaceTime and augmented reality starting at just $199,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Product Marketing. “The ultra-thin and lightweight design of iPod touch has always made it ideal for enjoying games, music and so much more wherever you go.”

Price

The iPod touch comes in the following three variants:

  • iPod touch 32GB: US$199
  • iPod touch 128GB: US$299
  • iPod touch 256GB: US$399

The device is available in six colours: space grey, white, gold, blue, pink and red.

Apple's new iPod Touch with Group FaceTime and AR: Price and FeaturesThe new iPod touch boasts of a 256GB internal storage, which is a lot of space for downloading music for offline viewing via Apple Music or iTunes Store.

Available in over 100 countries, Apple Music has north of 50 million songs to choose from, Beats 1 Radio, daily editorial selections and more. Users can also create their own playlists, listen to on-demand Beats 1 shows with their favourite artists and share music with friends and family.
