Apple has announced its very first MacBook Pro powered by octa-core Intel 9th-generation processors, which performs twice as quickly as a quad-core MacBook Pro and 40 percent faster than a hexa-core MacBook Pro

The new MacBook Pro also sports a retina display, Apple T2 security chip, super fast SSDs and powerful Radeon Pro graphics. The new Pro models are available starting today through Apple’s official website, Apple Store app and in select Apple Stores. Apple authorised resellers will get the devices later this week.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro has the option of six and eight-core Intel Core 9th-gen processors, which deliver Turbo Boost speeds of up to 5GHz. The new 13-inch MacBook Pro that features a Touch Bar is powered by a four-core Intel Core 8th-gen processor, which delivers Turbo Boost speeds of up to 4.7GHz.

“Whether it’s college students mastering a course of study, developers building world-class apps or video editors creating feature films, we’re constantly amazed at what our customers do with their MacBook Pro,” said Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac Product Marketing.

All the versions of the MacBook Pro are available in Silver and Space Gray colours. The new laptops will run the latest version of macOS — Mojave — which brings Dark mode, better organisation, group calling for FaceTime, several iOS apps and a redesigned Mac App Store, among other things.
