Apple has launched its Independent Repair Provider program in USA and will provide training and genuine parts to more certified independent technicians across the country.
There is no registration cost for the new repair program, which will also certify individuals free of cost, and will give them access to Apple-genuine parts, tools, training, repair manuals and diagnostics at the same cost as Apple authorised service providers (AASP) buy them. These individual repair providers are intended to complement the 5,000+ authorised service providers worldwide.
Unlike AASPs, independent repair businesses — big or small — will only be certified for “the most common out-of-warranty iPhone repairs”.

The company says it plans to expand its program to other countries as over the past year they’ve launched 20 successful independent repair businesses in North America, Europe and Asia.“To better meet our customers’ needs, we’re making it easier for independent providers across the US to tap into the same resources as our Apple Authorized Service Provider network,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer. “When a repair is needed, a customer should have confidence the repair is done right. We believe the safest and most reliable repair is one handled by a trained technician using genuine parts that have been properly engineered and rigorously tested.”
Apple also mentioned that their authorised service centres are available in all Best Buy’s across USA and the total number of AASPs has tripled in the past three years in the country.
