Yalı Çapkını (Golden Boy)

Yalı Çapkını is one of the most popular Turkish dramas ever made. It’s produced by OGM Pictures and tells the story of two sisters, Suna and Seyran come across Ferit, heir to the Korhan jewellery empire. While the sisters’ father is only interested in Ferit’s wealth, the two sisters get thrown into a conflict with Suna trying to find revenge plans as Ferit’s favour sides with Seyran.

Muhtesem Yuzyil (Magnificent Century)

The series is all about the sultanate of Suleiman the Magnificient from the Ottoman Empire. It’s one of the most revered historical series ever made in the country and has since been converted to many languages with over 400 million views in 72 countries.

Atiye (The Gift)

This is a Netflix-original series that follows the story of an artist from Istanbul named Atiye. She learns about a new discovery in the ruins of Gobeklitepe, one of the most ancient temples in the world that catches her eye. The story follows Atiye as she embarks on a journey to learn everything that there is about the mysterious discovery.

Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne? (What Is Fatmagul’s Fault?)

Fatmagül’ün Suçu Ne? or What is Fatmagul’s Fault is a series running from 2010 to 2012 that follows the story of Fatmagul, a simple village girl who’s trying to restart her life while facing extreme hardship after she’s violated by four drunk, rich men. The story is based on the difficulties she faces as she tries to get back up on her feet after being forced to marry a rapist.

Kara Sevda (Endless Love)

Kara Sevda follows the love story of Nihan, a wealthy girl and Kemal, the son of a middle-class family who’s studying mining engineering. Due to the differences in their financial status, their love story initially doesn’t pan out. But when Kemal is promoted to a high position in his mining company following an accident at the workplace, he returns to Istanbul to face Nihan and finish their story.

Zalim Istanbul (Ruthless City)

The series follows the story of Agah Karacay, who inherits a big fortune after his brother is mysteriously killed. Agah has under his care his wife Seniz, a son and daughter as well as his disabled nephew Nedim. The story describes the struggle within the family as Seniz tries to hide her big secret, whose only witness is Nedim by secretly administering him drugs while Agah tries his best to keep his nephew alive without knowing anything about the hidden plot by his wife.

Erkenci Kus (Daydreamer)

The series follows Sanem, a found girl who’s forced by her parents to choose between an arranged marriage and finding a proper job while she tries to pursue her aspirations of becoming a writer. As she rushes into a new job at an advertising company, she soon falls for her boss Can.
