Baldur’s Gate 3, created by Larian Studios, is set in Forgotten Realms, around 1492 DR, taking place 120 years after the previous game — gamers like customising the game using mods, like add-ons that can change things. However, sometimes, these mods can cause problems, and one common issue is that players can’t even get to the main menu after trying to use these mods.
If you ran a mod and encountered the same issue, this article discusses a few ways to help you fix the issue.

Fixing the issue
There are a few ways to resolve this issue, and they involve deleting the mod files.
Delete modsettings.lsx file
If you downloaded mods for the game on your PC, you will find them in the game folder in the AppData folder. Deleting the modsettings.lsx file will resolve the issue. To get it back to normal, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Go to C:\Users\<you pc username>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public.
Step 2: Find the modsettings.lsx file and delete it; in a few cases, you will see more of these files, delete all of them.
Verify the files
If the above method does not work for you, then deleting Baldur’s Gate 3 folder and verifying your files from Steam might solve this issue. Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Go to C:\Users\<you pc username>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios and delete the Baldur’s Gate 3 folder, you can also delete the Larian folder if you don’t play any other game by Larian.
Step 2: Now, it’s time to verify the files. Open the Steam and click on the Library tab. In the library, right-click on Baldurโs Gate 3, and then click on the Properties option in the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Find the Local Files and click Verify Integrity of Game Files.

It will reinstall all the files, which will fix the issue.
