Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms in the world right now. It has a bunch of features that keep attracting new users and retaining old ones for hours on end.
If you’re an avid Instagrammer, one of the questions that must have crossed your mind is whether or not you see people who have visited your profile. After all, the platform does offer tracking and analytics for business accounts.
If you’re running a brand page or your own business profile, it’s an understandable question that you might want to know who is visiting your profile.
In this article, we’re going to take a look if you can see who visits your profile on Instagram, whether or not there are third party alternatives and the possible workaround.

Can you see who visits your profile?
Sorry to disappoint you, but no you can’t.
Currently, Instagram offers no way of letting you know the names of the people who have visited your profile. At best, if you’re running a business account, you can see the number of people who have visited your profile over the past seven days but that’s about all the information you’re going to get.Â
There are a few other analytics that you can track, like how many times your posts showed up in other people’s feed but there’s no way of knowing exactly who came to your profile. Instagram, for privacy concerns, doesn’t share this data with anyone — ironic, we know.Â

Are there any third-party alternatives?
With native functionality out of the question, a lot of people will turn to third-party alternatives.Â
Now while you will find a lot of apps on both the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store that claim to offer this functionality, know that they’re all fakes.
The Instagram API doesn’t give access to this data, which means it’s not possible to implement this feature — legally anyways.Â
If you have any doubts regarding this, just go through the comment section of any of these apps, you’ll soon realise the truth. Some even charge you for being able to see Instagram profile visits.

Any workarounds?
Well, you can kind of get around this using stories.
Stories allow you to create temporary posts that disappear 24 hours after they were made. Instagram lets you see the number of story views and the names of the profiles that saw your story regardless of your account type.
At least some percentage of people who visit your account will see your story if you have posted one. This means that you’ll have at least some data regarding who actually visited your profile.Â
