How to change your Spotify username?

Spotify, one of the world’s leading music streaming app, is now available in 79 countries and boasts of a 207 million-strong active user base, including 96 million subscribers. The service was launched in India for INR 119 per month after a 30-day trial. It’s also available on prepaid plans starting from INR 13 for a day to INR 1189 for a year (available at a discounted price of INR 699 till June 30, 2020).

With Spotify Premium, users can stream over 40 million songs without any ads and play music offline without an internet connection, among other things. You can get the student version of Spotify Premium, which also costs half and comes with as many benefits.

While you can create a custom username while signing up for the service if you didn’t pay heed or just have had a change of heart and wish to change your Spotify username, here is how that can be done in a few simple steps.

How to change Spotify username on Android and iOS app?

Launch your Spotify app for Android or IOS and follow the steps mentioned below to change your Spotify username.

  • On the Home tab (usually the page where the app launches), tap on the Gear (settings) icon at the top-right of the display.
  • On the next page, click on your profile name with View Profile below (refer to the screenshot above).
  • On the next page, tap on the Edit Profile button below your profile name and profile picture.
  • On the next page, you can edit your profile name (as shown above) and then tap on the Save button at the top-right of the screen.

You can also change your profile picture on the same screen above by clicking on the round image icon or the Change Photo link below the icon.

You can’t change your username or profile name on Spotify via the PC client or by logging into the website.
