Twitter has emerged as one of the go-to places for conversations about socio-political issues and if you want the best experience on the platform, it’s suggested that you use it in your preferred language.
In this article, we’re going to explain how you can change the language of the Twitter user interface — buttons, options — as well as the language in which tweets, people and trends appear on your timeline.
How to change the Twitter UI display language on PC?
Login to Twitter.com on your PC and follow the steps mentioned below to change the display language in which your Twitter’s user interface appears. These changes can only be made via Twitter website for PC.
Step 1: Click on the More button from the options that appear on the side panel to the left.

Step 2: From the menu, select Settings and privacy.

Step 3: On the next page, select Account and then click on Display language under Data and permissions.

Step 4: On the next page to the right of the screen, click on the arrow button below Display language to reveal all the language options available for Twitter UI. Select the language in which you want your Twitter to appear.

Step 5: Then click on the Save button to update the language for Twitter.

In some cases, you might be asked to enter your password to complete the changes. Follow the on-screen instructions in such a case and your changes will be saved.
Once you’ve changed the display language on Twitter, all the headlines, buttons and other text that pertains to your account on twitter will appear in this language. This won’t change the language of your timeline on Twitter; check out the guide below to change your Twitter timeline language.

How to change Twitter timeline language on PC?
Login to Twitter.com and follow the steps mentioned below to change the language on Twitter.
Step 1: Click on the More button from the options that appear on the side panel to the left.

Step 2: From the menu, select Settings and privacy.

Step 3: On the next page, select Content preferences and then click on Recommendations under Languages.

Step 4: You’ll see a list of supported languages on the pop-up page. Check the boxes beside any language that you want tweets created in to appear in your timelines. Click on the Show more button to see more supported languages. Once you’ve selected the languages, click on the Done button on the top-right of the pop-up box.

In some cases, you might be asked to enter your password to complete the changes. Follow the on-screen instructions in such a case and your changes will be saved.
Now all the tweets, people and trends in your timeline and explore tab will appear in the languages that you’ve selected above.

How to change Twitter timeline language on app for Android and iOS?
Open the Twitter app on Android or iOS and follow the steps mentioned below to change the language in which the tweets, people and trends appear in your Twitter timeline.

- Tap on your profile picture on the top-left corner of the app (on the iOS app) or on the hamburger menu icon (on the Android app).
- On the menu that appears to the left, scroll down and tap on Settings and privacy.
- On the next page, tap on Content preferences.
- Then tap on Recommendations, under Languages.
- On the next page, tap on the toggle button beside all the languages you want to see content in your timeline (scroll down to see more languages).
- Once you’re done, tap on the Done button at the bottom of the screen.

As mentioned above, all the tweets, people and trends in your timeline and explore tab will appear in the languages that you’ve selected above.
