Chipotle is one of America’s most popular fast-food restaurants that serve authentic Mexican food. The chain started with a single restaurant in 1993 and now runs over 3,000 outlets across the United States. However, as convenient and delicious as eating at Chipotle might be, is it just as convenient when you have to pay?
As digital wallets and other payment methods trump cash and traditional payment methods like credit and debit cards, more and more stores and businesses are switching their payment infrastructures to reduce friction and allow seamless transactions for their customers.
In this article, we’re talking about whether or not you can use Apple Pay to pay for your Chipotle order.

Chipotle and Apple Pay
Chipotle launched its official mobile app in November 2017 which introduced the ability to order food on the go in addition to new methods including Apple and Android Pay.
You can use Apple Pay to pay at Chipotle outlets and when ordering on the app.
Since the 2017 announcement, Chipotle has upgraded the POS machines at their outlets to support Apple Pay, an easy, secure payment method made by Apple that’s exclusive to its customers. This means that you can use your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or even Mac to pay.

There isn’t any fee associated with the transaction either, as compared to several other payment methods that can charge a percentage of the total amount as a transaction fee.
What other payment methods does Chipotle accept?
Other than Apple Pay, you can use just about any traditional or digital payment method at all Chipotle outlets including:
- Cash
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Prepaid cards
- Gift cards
- Google Pay and other supported digital wallets.
