Target x Google Pay
A year before the COVID pandemic, Target announced that they were willing to accept contactless payment methods (as if they knew how beneficial this decision will be in the future). Now, Target has three access points where you can access their diverse goods, which are:
- Target’s website
- Target’s app
- Target’s stores
Since there are outlets and stores that take digital payment at either their store or on their app, Target just happens to be one such outlet with a twist. It accepts digital payment methods like Google Pay at the Target Store but not for its website or app.

Target web and app
Target.com and its app accept Target RedCard credit or debit cards. This online wallet feature first came to the Target app in 2017 and gave customers up to five percent off on all purchases. Customers can use an in-built digital payment method on their Target app which comes with online coupons and Gift Cards. Hence, Google Pay is accepted only offline not online, on either their app or website.
