Dropbox has announced many new services for its platform, including a new redesigned web interface, an AI-powered universal search feature, enhancements to another AI feature currently in alpha, and an early alpha of a new video collaboration tool.

First is the fresh web interface, a change that will likely impact most Dropbox users as it gradually unfolds. Prominently featured within this interface is an action bar, poised to span the page and provide quick access to functions such as screen recording, creation of folders, and file uploads.

Moreover, the company has also redesigned the file previews to provide users with the ease of doing things such as editing images, videos, and PDFs. The left panel has been redesigned to look clutter-free and sleek.

The next new feature by Dropbox is Dash, the AI-powered universal search the company released in beta. “Dash is an AI-powered universal search that connects to people’s apps, tools, and content in a single search bar to help them find their content,” the company said.

After taking customers’ feedback over the past few months, Dash can work based on the keywords users will input. Moreover, users can ask a query on Dash, and the generative AI will provide the answers.

Next, the company has expanded the Dropbox AI to cover every file on the user’s account. Earlier, the AI used to summarise only videos, audio, and documents. The feature is currently in alpha testing and will gradually be available to all Dropbox users.

The last major update by the company is the Dropbox Studio, a go-to store for video creators. With Dropbox Studio, the users will have access to one centralised page for all their video creation needs, like editing, trimming, and removing fillers. Users can also edit videos just by editing the transcript and can post the videos directly on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

In tandem with these new improvements, Dropbox is introducing new subscription tiers commencing at $22 per month or $18 per month billed annually for the Essentials package. The plan escalates to $32 per month for the Business Plus tier and $26 billed annually.
