Google has put a lot of work into their browser, trying to perfect it and present as smooth a browsing experience as possible. However, just like all things tech, there are hiccups the browser can run into.

Restart your router
The first thing you should do is restart your router. This can help you find out any internet issues before you start fiddling with your browser. Restarting networking equipment can magically deal with several such issues.
Check your antivirus
Although a bit of a far shot, you should check your antivirus to see if it’s restricting Chrome’s internet access. This can happen due to several reasons, but if something fishy shows up in your antivirus, there could be malware present on your machine that could be causing the error.

Disable SSLv3 in Chrome
One of the most popular reasons for this error is websites restricting the SSLv3 protocol. Disabling this in Chrome can get you around the Err_Connection_Aborted error.
Step 1: Right-click on the Chrome shortcut and click Properties.

Step 2: In the Target field, add a space after chrome.exe and type in the following.
-ssl-version-min=tls1

Click OK when you’re done. Now restart your router and try again.

Check your system files
Corrupt system files can also cause the Err_Connection_Aborted error on Chrome for a lot of users.
Step 1: Press Windows key + X to open the quick access menu and click on Command Prompt (Admin)

Step 2: Type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Once Windows is done scanning your computer, restart it and try again.

Reset Chrome
Resetting Chrome can fix all sorts of random bugs and glitches with the browser.
Step 1: Head over to chrome://settings/reset. Click on Restore settings to their original defaults.

Step 2: Chrome will show you a warning prompt. Click on Reset Settings, and your browser will reset to default settings.

Uninstall the KB2992611 Update
If you’ve upgraded from Windows Vista or 8.1 to Windows 10, the KB2992611 update can mess up Chrome’s operations.
Step 1: Press Windows key + I to open Chrome settings and click Update & Security.

Step 2: Click on View installed update history.

Step 3: Click on the Uninstall updates link.

Step 4; Locate the KB2992611 update and remove it from your PC.
Restart your system and try again.

Reset your DNS settings
Misconfigured DNS settings can cause all sorts of problems, including the Err_Connection_Aborted error, and here’s how to fix them.
Step 1: Press Windows key + R and type in cmd and hit enter.

Step 2: Type in ipconfig /flushdns to reset DNS settings to default.

If the above command doesn’t help, try entering these commands in the Command Prompt one at a time.
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
If you suspect an issue with your router’s DHCP assignment, use these commands to release your old IP and request a new one.
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
If this doesn’t work either, use the following commands to reset your network stack.
ipconfig/flushdns
nbtstat -R
nbtstat -RR
netsh int ip reset C:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset
On a mac, head over to your terminal and type in sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder. Type in your password when prompted for it and try re-accessing the internet.

Run the Windows Troubleshooter
Windows 10 has a bunch of really good troubleshooters that can fix a bunch of problems on your PC.
Step 1: Press Windows key + I to open Chrome settings and click Update & Security.

Step 2: Head over to the Troubleshoot tab and click on Additional troubleshooters.

Step 3: Click on the Internet Connections troubleshooter and run it to resolve any issues with your PC.

Run DISM
Step 1: Press Windows key + X to open the quick access menu and click on Command Prompt (Admin).

Step 2: Run the following commands one after the other pressing enter after each command.
DISM /online /Cleanup-Image / ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Wait for the process to finish and restart your Chrome. This should fix Err_Connection_Aborted error on Chrome.
