What Causes the error code 2800 on the Generator?
The error code 2800 usually shows up during an auxiliary shutdown because the auxiliary shutdown switch is physically damaged, a loose wire or any part of the series circuit is broken; it is also possible somebody has, by mistake, pressed the auxiliary shutdown button.

How to fix the error code 2800 on the Generator?
The Generac generators have two auxiliary shutdown switches, which have to be On and then you have to clear the error from the control panel of the generator to let your generator run and stop showing the error code 2800.
Step 1: Locate the auxiliary shutdown switches and switch them On
There are two auxiliary shutdown switches that look like small toggle buttons. One is located on the back of the generator, and the other is inside the lid of the generator on the right side of the engine compartment. After locating both the auxiliary shutdown switches, switch them to On.
Step 2: Clear the error code from the generator control panel
When any error occurs, it is shown on the control panel interface of the generator, and to remove it, locate the Auto/Manual/Off buttons on the right side of the unit. Press the Off button after that, press the Enter button and then finally press the Auto button to run the generator in fully automatic system operation.
