Instagram allows users to create groups for easier messaging and sharing within the platform. Most of the Instagram group chats can include up to 250 people. However, there may come a time when you want to remove a group for various reasons.

Can you delete a group on Instagram?
No, Instagram does not provide any option to delete the group. However, you can leave the group chat, when you leave the chat Instagram will ask you to choose the admin and if you leave the group without choosing the admin, Instagram will randomly choose the admin for the group chat.
Instagram allows the admin and the members of the group to leave the group chat. If you want to leave the group then follow the steps below:
- Open the Instagram app on your phone and tap on the Messenger icon at the top right corner of the screen.
- In the Messages, tap on the group chat that you want to leave to open it.
- Tap on the Group Name at the top of the screen.
- Various options for your group chat will show up, tap on the Leave icon available in the options below the group name.
- Now, Instagram will ask you to choose the admin for the group. If you want to choose an admin for the group then tap on the Choose admin option otherwise tap on the Leave option. Instagram will randomly choose an admin from the group members for the group chat.
