Remove wallpaper on iPhone
This wallpaper feature is only available in iOS 16 and newer versions. To remove the wallpaper of your iPhone, follow the steps below:
- Unlock your iPhone, if you have enabled Face ID, passcode or Touch ID, then use it to unlock it.
- Now, long press on the Lock Screen.
- Swipe up to reveal the Trash can at the bottom, then tap the Trash can icon. If you have set multiple wallpapers, swipe left and right to select the wallpaper you want to delete.
- Tap on the Delete This Wallpaper option to confirm your action.

Add wallpaper from the Lock screen
If you don’t see the Trash can icon when you swipe up, then it means that you have only a single wallpaper for your phone. So, ensure you have more than one wallpaper on your iPhone because you need a wallpaper to switch to when you delete the current wallpaper.
- Unlock your iPhone; if you have enabled Face ID, passcode or Touch ID, then use it to unlock it.
- Now, long press on the Lock Screen.
- Tap on the Add (Plus icon) button beside the Customise button.
