Google Pay, or GPay, is an online money transfer and payment platform. Using this app, you can easily pay for your subscriptions, perform online transactions based on your mobile number, recharge DTH, and access your CIBIL score.

GPay also has a referral future where both you and the person you have referred will get a cashback once they have used the referral code. Therefore, enter the referral code correctly to get rewards.

What is a referral code?

It is a unique alphanumeric code that you can see on the Google Pay app. Using this code, you can invite other people to try the app.

When the other person enters the referral code, both accounts are locked in together. If the referee makes an online payment, both parties will receive a cashback.

You can check the referral code on GPay by following the steps given below:

  • Open GPay and then tap on the profile picture at the top right of the screen.
  • Now, check the referral code under the Invite friends, get rewards heading. You can also share this referral code with someone to get the rewards.

Steps to enter referral code in Google Pay

Now that we have understood where to look for the referral code in Google Pay, let us learn how to enter the referral code in Google Pay.

  • Open Google Pay and then tap on Referral Code on the top right.
  • Here, enter the referral code you have received from your friend or family member.
  • If the code is valid, you will see a success message on the screen.

Now, all you have to do is complete an online payment via the GPay app within 28 days to get the cashback reward. If you don’t want to conduct large transactions, you can send at least Re. 1 to someone you know.

Things to keep in mind to earn referral rewards on Google Pay

Here are some things that you should keep in mind to earn referral rewards on Google Pay easily:

  • Eligible payments on GPay include sending money, paying bills, recharging a mobile number, paying a merchant, or paying an external bank.
  • The referee must be new to the GPay app and must not have accepted a prior referral code.
  • Payments on insurance premiums won’t be counted as an eligible payment.
  • Payments to users with the same Google credentials will not be counted as an eligible payment.
  • The cashback that you have earned will expire in 45 days if you have not linked your bank account or if there are issues with the cashback.
  • The referrer can earn a maximum of 9,000 rupees per financial year via rewards.

In conclusion, you can easily check the referral code by tapping on the profile picture at the top right corner of the screen and then checking the code under Invite friends, get rewards heading.
