If you want to hide messages on Android, you may be wondering how to do it. Your messages might contain private or confidential information you want to hide. Android provides several ways to secure your messages from prying eyes. A part of the messages is also displayed on the notifications. This can also pose a problem.

In this article, we’ll discuss a few of these ways, including turning off text notifications, hiding text message notifications, and using third-party apps to hide messages. Let us start with the first one.

Turn off text notifications

If you’re in a social gathering while simultaneously messaging someone, you might not want to show the notifications to someone else. To do this, you can follow the steps given below:

  • Swipe down to open the notification panel and then tap on Manage.
  • Next, select App settings.
  • Now, turn off the toggle in front of Messages.

After you are done with the steps, you will notice that there are no notifications for the Messages app. However, if you are using another messaging app, turn off that app’s notifications by following the same process.

  • Next, select the archive icon at the right of the pin icon.

The message will be archived and will not be seen openly. To access the message, tap on the profile picture at the top right corner and select Archived folder.

To unarchive the message, long-press the message and press the unarchive icon represented by an upward arrow.
