How to rename your AirTag?

Apple’s AirTag is a small and handy gadget created to help you find your belongings. If you lose your keys, wallet, or anything important, AirTag makes it simple to locate them using the Find My app. AirTag has a customisable feature that allows you to rename it. Renaming your AirTag doesn’t just add a personal touch; it also makes it easier to spot in the Find My app.

Set Apple’s suggested name for AirTag

When you set up an AirTag, Apple provides several name suggestions, and giving it a name is necessary. If you chose the wrong name or want to give a new name to your AirTag, you can go to AirTag settings and rename it. Here are the steps to change the name of your AirTag:

  • On your phone, open the Find My app. Tap on the Items tab at the bottom of the screen and choose your AirTag.
  • Swipe up to access more information about that AirTag, scroll down and tap on Rename Item.
  • Select from the suggested names by Apple and tap on the Done button at the top right corner of the screen.

Set a custom name for AirTag

You can also set a custom name for the AirTag. To do that, follow the steps below:

  • On your phone, open the Find My app. Tap on the Items tab at the bottom of the screen and choose your AirTag.
  • Swipe up to access more information about that AirTag, scroll down and tap on Rename Item.
  • In the suggested names, scroll down to the bottom and select the Custom Name and then at the bottom, type the name of your choice. After you are done, tap on the Done button at the top right corner of the screen.

Then, you’ll be asked to add an emoji for the AirTag; do that, and you’re good to go.
