Hulu boasts over 35.5 million subscribers in the US, making it one of the most popular streaming services alongside Netflix and Amazon Prime in the country. It offers over 80,000 TV shows and movies and people can also opt for the 65 live channels on offer with their top-tier Hulu + Live TV or Hulu subscription, which costs $54.99.
Like other online streaming services, Hulu also allows its subscribers — starting from its second-tier plan called Hulu (No Ads) — to download select titles to watch offline. And much like any other streaming service, there is a limit to the number of videos you can download or record on Hulu.
Here we talk about the download limit on Hulu, alongwith discussing which videos can be downloaded, how long they’re available and if and how you can download videos from live channels.

Which videos can be downloaded on Hulu?
Any video that has the Download icon next to it is available for subscribers to download.

icon and then select Downloadable.Download limit on Hulu
As mentioned above, Hulu has a limit on the number of video titles that a subscriber is allowed to download on a single account (not profile) and they’re relatively less generous with the limit.
You can download a total of 25 videos (episodes or movies) at once on up to five mobile devices on a single account.
To be clear, the 25-video download limit isn’t device or profile-specific but covers the entire account.
You can download videos on compatible mobile devices. Check out the entire list here.

How long are the downloaded videos available?
Once you’ve downloaded a video, it’ll be available to start watching for up to 30 days. Once you start watching the video, it expires in the next 48 hours.
You can renew a download again by going to the Downloads tab and then tap on the Alert icon beside an expired download.
Some downloaded videos might expire before 30 days if they’re removed from the library.
Can you record Live TV on Hulu?
If you’re subscribed to the Hulu + Live TV or its ad-free ($70) plan, you’ll also be able to record live TV for up to 50 hours with the Cloud DVR storage, which is available as an add-on for $9.99 per month.
