Fix: iMessage not syncing on Mac

Check iMessage settings on Mac and iPhone

The first step you should take is to check the iMessage settings on Mac and iPhone.

  • On your iPhone or iPad, navigate to the Settings app.
  • Tap on Messages.
  • Select Send & Receive.
  • Locate the section labeled YOU CAN BE REACHED BY IMESSAGE AT.
  • Verify that the phone number or email address you wish to use is checked or enabled.

Mac

To ensure proper messaging settings on your Mac, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Messages app on your Mac.

Step 2: In the top menu, click on Messages and then Settings.

Step 4: In the iMessage tab, verify the number in the You can be reached for messages at option.

Verify that both the phone number and Apple ID match the settings on your iPhone.

Turn off iMessage and turn it back on

Turn off iMessage on both your Mac and iPhone to synchronize messages from your Mac to your iPhone.

On your iPhone: Go to Settings > Messages > Toggle off iMessage. Wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.

Sign in with the latest Apple ID

Update your iPhone
