Winzo was founded in 2018 and has since become one of the top platforms for playing and earning.
Currently, the company has more than 15 crore users and has distributed prizes worth Rs. 200 crore. This shows that the Indian gaming community has already begun using the app and earning from it.
The company has partnered with Paytm, Google Pay, and PhonePe, among others so that users can easily transfer and withdraw their rewards.
However, we are here to answer the question for the cybersecurity aficionados: Is the Winzo app safe to use?
Is Winzo legal?
Before discussing Winzo’s safety, let’s delve into its legal aspect. Many have asked whether Winzo is a legal app and whether they can get into any legal troubles by joining it.
Yes, Winzo is a completely legal application used by hundreds of thousands of players across India and other countries.
Moreover, Winzo is a member of the All India Gaming Federation, India’s only apex body for regulating online games.

Is Winzo safe?
We will head to various domain intelligence platforms and scam detection websites to prove this statement.
VirusTotal
We have posted a screenshot of the Winzogames.com URL on VirusTotal. As you can see, VirusTotal states that “No security vendors flagged this URL as malicious.”
Also, the score is 0/91, as you can see on the top left. This means that VirusTotal checked the URL with 91 vendors and found no malicious activities.
Thus, we can say for sure that Winzo is a safe app to use. But let us not get ahead of ourselves here. We will also check with one other domain intelligence platform for a more clear answer.
ThreatYeti
ThreatYeti is yet another domain intelligence platform used by professionals and newbies alike. When we entered winzogames.com on threatYeti, we found that the platform had given quite a low threat score.
As we can see from the above screenshot, Winzo scored a risk score of 2.96 and is still in the green zone, according to threatYeti. Two warning signs are visible, but these are medium-level warnings and can always be ignored.
Scamadviser
Finally, we head to Scamadviser, a leader in phishing and scam detection. Here, we can see that Winzo has scored a 100/100 trust score. This impressive score shows that Winzo isn’t a scam and you’re safe on the app.
We will not stop here. Next, we headed to Trustpilot, a customer review website where customers have given their points of view about Winzo. The above three websites proved beyond reasonable doubt that Winzo is not malicious or a scam. However, visiting Trustpilot will show us how the company treats its customers and whether the customers are happy with the service or not.
Trustpilot
On Trustpilot, Winzo scored a little below what was expected. Here, the company scored 3.1 out of 5 based on 43 reviews. Out of these, over 54% are 1-star, while 40% are 5-star reviews.
The 1-star reviews are mostly related to the payment delays and the presence of bots in the game. People have complained that they cannot defeat the bots and hence cannot win any money. However, they have already invested a small sum to play the game, so the whole thing is a scam.
However, Winzo denies any bot involvement. On the Winzo website, we found the No Bot and RNG certificate where a third party evaluated some games on the platform, including Ludo, Snake and Ladders, Carrom, Metro Surfer, and Fruit Samurai and found out that there were no bots.
That being said, there are more than 200 games on the platform, and it is nearly impossible for any third party to investigate them deeply.
Now, let us move on to the 5-star reviews. Customers are happy that they were able to withdraw the amount easily and that customer support was available 24/7.
In conclusion, we can say that Winzo is not a scam but a legitimate website where you can play games and earn rewards, including hard cash. After that, you can transfer the cash to your bank account via many UPI apps.
However, when we tried to check out the app’s privacy policy, we were disappointed to find that although the company displays the privacy policy option on the home page, the link is broken. As a responsible company, we should know what data users provide and how they use this data. We will update the privacy policy when the link is repaired.
