World of Tanks is available on multiple gaming consoles, such as PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, under World of Tanks: Modern Armor, which Wargaming West developed.
Furthermore, the game has extended its reach to mobile platforms with World of Tanks Blitz. It has even inspired other adaptations, like the board game World of Tanks Rush and the collectable card game World of Tanks: Generals. Does World of Tanks support cross-platform play?
World of Tanks allows players on PS4 and Xbox One to play together in cross-play mode, meaning they can battle against each other using their respective consoles. However, the PC version of the game does not support cross-platform play. Players on PC cannot join online multiplayer matches with those on Xbox or PlayStation 4.
The reason for this decision by developer Wargaming, specifically Wargaming Chicago-Baltimore, is likely to maintain a fair gameplay balance. In many shooting games, using a keyboard and mouse provides faster reaction times and greater accuracy than a gamepad. Therefore, the cross-platform play feature is not extended to PC players to ensure a level playing field.
