Troubleshooting Logitech mice

Usually, there are only a handful of things that can go wrong. You can face problems with

We’ll be going over both of these situations.

How to fix wireless Logitech mouse not working?

First up, let’s look at what might cause your wireless Logitech mouse to stop working or not work in the first place.

Dead or weak batteries

Dead or low batteries are among the most common reasons why wireless mice stop functioning as they should. If your mouse is unresponsive and won’t turn on when you connect it to your PC via a dongle or Bluetooth, try to change the batteries with a fresh pair to check if that resolves your issue.ย

Try the mouse on a different surface

Unless you’re using one of Logitech’s wireless gaming mice, the chances are that the peripheral in your hand isn’t meant for much other than a nice smooth mousepad. If you can connect your mouse to your PC, but it won’t run, try using the mouse on a different surface to see if it helps.ย

Test other USB ports

If you’re using a mouse with a dongle, try plugging in the dongle on other USB ports on your computer. There’s a chance that the port you’re using to plug the dongle itself is malfunctioning and, in turn, not letting the mouse function as it should.ย

Check the mouse on another computer

If you have access to another computer, check the mouse there to single out the issue. If the mouse works fine, something’s wrong with your computer. Otherwise, the mouse is at fault.

Reinstall/Update drivers

The last thing you can try out is to reinstall or update the mouse driver from scratch. Here’s how.

Step 1: Press the Windows key and search for Device Manager. Click on the corresponding search result.

How to fix Logitech GHUB not detecting mouse?

Another rather popular reason for Logitech mouse not working as they should is when the Logitech GHUB doesn’t detect the mouse in the first place. Here are a few fixes you can try.

Check the mouse

If you’re using a wired mouse, check to ensure that the mouse cable is fine and there are no cuts or tears on the cable. On wireless mice, ensure that they’ve got charged batteries and are actually functional.ย

Similarly, the port you’re using to connect the mouse could be malfunctioning as well, so it’s always a good idea to try different ports on your PC.ย

Bypass any hubs/extensions

If you’re using a USB hub or extension of some sort, it could very well be causing issues with the mouse’s power input. Most USB hubs are not able to provide enough power if you connect multiple heavy peripherals to them.

Should you use a USB hub with your laptop or tablet?

If you’ve got a mouse to connect in such a manner, we recommend connecting it directly into your PC’s USB ports to check if the issue is resolved.

Try another tracking surface

Aforementioned, there’s a good chance that the surface you’re using your mouse on is causing problems. Try switching out your tracking or surface, or better yet, use a mousepad so that your mouse’s sensor can track movements properly.ย

Switch to Logitech Gaming Software

A lot of people have been experiencing issues with Logitech’s GHUB ever since it came out. Logitech retired its previous software Logitech Gaming Software in favour of GHUB, but LGS is far more stable and supports a lot more devices.
