Discord is one of the most popular VoIP programs in the world right now and has seen steady growth in its worldwide user base since its 2015 launch. While the program was initially meant for gamers only, it has since expanded to include anyone and everyone. So whether you want better comms when gaming or to hang out in a video call with your friends, Discord’s got your back.
All of this starts with a Discord server. It’s where the program’s main features come to life with multiple text and voice channels, different roles, moderation settings and whatnot. In this article, we’re talking about how to make a Discord server and use the program to its full extent.

Making a Discord server
As you’d expect, making a Discord server is only a matter of a few clicks. Just follow these steps.
Step 1: Open Discord and scroll down on the left, where your server list is, until you see a plus icon. Click it to proceed.
Step 2: Discord will show you a few server templates that’ll help you save some work based on the main thing you’ll be using your server for, such as gaming, study groups or even a local community. If you’d rather build your own, click the Create my own button or feel free to go with any of the templates.
Step 3: You’ll then be asked if the server is just for you and your friends or for a larger community. You can choose either option or skip the question.
Step 4: Finally, enter a server name, upload a photo (optional) and click the Create button. Your Discord server should come to life right away.
