Minecraft error code -1: 5 Fixes

Minecraft is one of the most popular games of all time with the action-adventure sandbox still going strong in 2022 even after a decade of its launch. The game has also been ported to other platforms including consoles to make it more accessible to gamers.

However, as popular as Minecraft might be, it still isn’t perfect and sometimes runs into random bugs and glitches. In this article, we’re talking about Minecraft error code -1, its causes and what you can do to fix the problem.

What causes this error?

There’s no specific cause for the error as it can be triggered by a number of things including:

  • Corrupted Microsoft Store cache files.
  • Issues with Gaming Services on Windows or Xbox.
  • Issues with linking your Microsoft account with the game,
  • Minecraft servers are down.

How to fix this?

Here are five fixes you can try out.

Restart the game

Update Windows and Minecraft

Updating the game and your OS can also help resolve the issue by eliminating any underlying bugs hindering functionality.

Check out this guide to quickly update Windows or pause updates if it's hindering your game.
