Removing phone number on the Instagram app
The process is actually quite simple and straightforward. Follow these steps.
- Open the Instagram app and tap on your profile picture in the bottom right.
- Tap on the Edit Profile button on your profile page.
- Scroll down to find the Personal Information Settings link. Tap on it to proceed.
- Tap on your phone number.
- Remove the phone number and hit Next.
Aforementioned, doing this will also remove two-factor authentication from your account which can be a big security risk.

How to remove phone number from Instagram on PC?
If you’re using Instagram on your PC, here are the steps you need to follow.
Step 1: Head over the Instagram site and log in with your account. Head over to your profile page by clicking your profile picture in the top-right.
Step 2: Click on the Edit Profile button.
Step 3: Scroll down to find your phone number. Simply remove it and click on Submit.
Do keep in mind that you need to have a verified email address linked to your account before you remove your phone number.
