Robotic vacuum cleaners sound like something out of a sci-fi movie, but they’re as real as they get. These small robots can walk around your house and map it, cleaning around as it goes. However, just like every other piece of tech, it can also run into errors from time to time.

What causes Shark robot error 2?

There isn’t a specific reason as to why your Shark robot might throw up error 2, instead, it can be caused by a number of reasons including:

  • Mechanical issues.
  • Brush roll obstruction.
  • Software/firmware issues.
  • The robot requires maintenance due to physical damage or dust collection.
  • The robot is blocked and requires assistance.

How to fix Shark robot error 2?

Here are five fixes you can try out to fix Shark robot error 2.

Check the brush roll and side brushes

One of the most common reasons behind error 2 is an obstruction in the side brushes or the brush roll, causing it to be unable to move freely. This can be fixed by just removing the brush roll and cleaning it to remove any dust and debris. The same goes for the side brushes.

Free the driver wheels

Just like the brush roll or the side brushes, the driver wheels of the vacuum can also get stuck with any dust or debris over time. Once again, the simple fix here is just to clean the wheels out and make sure they’re spinning freely. Once you get the wheels moving again, error 2 shouldn’t show up anymore.

Check for blockages

Another possible reason for error 2 is a blockage or obstruction in the robot’s path which requires human intervention to remove. Check to see if the robot is stuck somewhere and if it is, remove any obstructions in the way.

Mechanical damage or failures

Mechanical damage or component failure from any falls or hits on the robot can also cause error 2. While the robot should be able to detect any edges and stay away from them, things can break down over extended use causing the issue.
