eSports gear: Should you buy gaming accessories?

Steelseries is one of the most popular peripheral companies in the world making everything from speakers, keyboards, mice and headsets. However, as good as their products are, they aren’t perfect and things can run into problems from time to time.

In this article, we’re talking about the Steelseries Sonar not working, the causes behind it and what you can do to fix the problem.

What issues can stop Steelseries Sonar from working?

There are several reasons why Steelseries Sonar might not work as expected. Some common causes include:

  • Steelseries GG isn’t installed.
  • Driver issues.
  • Hardware issues with the headset.

How to fix Steelseries Sonar errors?

Here are five fixes you can try out.

Check Steelseries Sonar settings

The first thing you should do is check Sonar settings to see if your headset is being detected, Sonar is turned on and the volume is turned high enough for you to listen to any audio coming in your headphones. If the headset isn’t working, generally unplugging and plugging it back in again can fix the issue. Otherwise, try restarting Sonar by holding the power button for 10 seconds and then letting go.

If you’ve got multiple audio outputs plugged into your computer, make sure that your headset is set as the default audio output to ensure all system sounds are routed over to your headset.

Update audio drivers

Since the error is audio-related, updating the audio drivers on your PC will often fix the problem.

Step 1: Press Windows Key + X and click on Device Manager.
