Conditions for the Scratch achievement in Stray

In order to get the Scratch achievement in-game, you need to play the game until at least chapter 10, then head over to the nightclub that you’ll discover at the end of the chapter. There’s a vinyl record here that you need to scratch in order to get the achievement.

However, if you didn’t get the achievement even after completing the aforementioned events, there could be certain factors behind this.

  • Corrupt game files.
  • Outdated game version.
  • Glitch in the game or server issues.
  • Integration issue with your PC peripherals.

How to fix the problem?

Here are four fixes you can try out.

Restart your PC or console

Restarting your PC or console can fix a number of seemingly random issues you might be experiencing with any games you’re playing, including Stray. Simply restart your device and relaunch the game before attempting to get the achievement again and it should work just fine.

Verify Game Files

Corrupted game files can often lead to issues like this, not just in Stray, but in other games as well. Luckily, Steam has a built-in feature that verifies your game files and reinstalls any files that might be damaged. Follow these steps.

Step 1: Head over to your Steam Library, right-click on Stray and select Properties.

Try scractching the record in-game now and you should get the achievement. If you’re playing on a console, try restarting your device and completing the tasks required to see if that helps.

Update the game

As mentioned before, there’s a good chance you haven’t updated the game to the latest build which could well mean you don’t have the scratch achievement in the game yet. Updating the game, whether you’re playing on PC or console can potentially fix this issue.

Try using a controller instead of keyboard/mouse

If you’re playing using a keyboard and mouse, try using a controller to complete the achievement instead. This sounds irrelevant but there can be an issue with your peripherals integrating properly with the game which can be resolved by using an alternative input method.
