Add or remove Strikethrough in GDocs using the Format Menu
If the shortcuts mentioned above aren’t working for you, you can also follow the steps below to Strikethrough text in Google Docs. and follow the steps mentioned below.
- Highlight the text you want to Strikethrough or from which you want to remove the formatting.
- From the toolbar at the top, click on Format.
- Then from the dropdown menu, click on Text.
- Click on the Strike-through option.

Add or remove Strikethrough using the Format menu on Google Docs app
Open your document in the Google Docs app for iOS or Android and follow the steps mentioned below to Strikethrough text or remove the formatting.
- Highlight the text you want to Strikethrough or from which you want to remove the formatting.
- Look for the symbol with an uppercase ‘A’ in the toolbar at the top and tap on it.
- A menu will appear in the bottom half of the screen. You’ll find the Strikethrough symbol towards the middle.
You’ll also see the Strikethrough option in the toolbar when you highlight the text when using Google Docs on Android tabs or iPad.
