Uber Eats has partnered with popular cannabis retailer, Tokyo Smoke, for online cannabis orders in Ontario, Canada. People can place orders using the dedicated section on Uber Eats digital marketplace for Tokyo Smoke’s virtual stores.
The exclusive arrangement between the two companies will allow people to place orders from Tokyo Smoke’s flower collection and accessories and then pick up that purchase at the respective Tokyo Smoke store.
Currently, the Canadian cannabis laws don’t allow delivery. So, currently Uber Eats isn’t delivering cannabis to people’s doorsteps but merely allowing them to place orders online and collect from the stores once they’re ready.
According to Uber, the orders will be fulfilled with an hour of being placed.
“By combining a streamlined ordering process through the Uber Eats app with Tokyo Smoke’s in-person pickup service, we’re creating a new end-to-end experience for responsible cannabis ordering across the province,” said Lola Kassim, General Manager of Uber Eats Canada.
