How to unpublish a Facebook page?

Facebook pages are a great way of connecting with like-minded people over the platform. They’re also a great way to promote a brand or just about anything that you’d want to have a front.

After you’re done making your Facebook page, you have to publish it before it’s visible to the general public. However, just as easy it is to publish a Facebook page, it’s equally easy to unpublish one. 

In this article, we’re going over how you can unpublish a Facebook page. Note that you will need to have administrator permissions for the page you’re trying to unpublish.

How to unpublish a Facebook page on desktop?

If you’re using Facebook on a web browser, follow these steps to unpublish your page.

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account and head over to your page. Scroll down in the left side menu and click on Settings.

Step 2: Click on the Edit button in front of the Page visibility field.

Step 3: Click on the Page unpublished radio button followed by Save Changes.

Your page will now be unpublished and hence, hidden from everyone except those who have permissions to modify the page.

How to unpublish a Facebook page on mobile app?

When you’re on the phone app, follow these steps to unpublish your page.

  • Open the Facebook app and tap on the hamburger menu icon in the top right.
  • Select your page.
  • Tap on the settings icon in the top right.

  • Tap on General.
  • Scroll down to Page Visibility and tap on Unpublish. 

Your page will now be unpublished. Once again, only those who have permissions to modify or manage the page will access it regardless of the publish status.
