What are Instagram insights?
Instagram Insights are the analytics of your Instagram account, you can use Instagram insights to learn more about your followers and the performance of your Instagram account.
To see your Instagram account’s insights you must have a business or a creator account, Instagram does not allow personal account holders to use the Instagram insights feature as it is only useful to the creators and business account holders because they need to keep a track of their followers and the activity on the posts. You can also check the likes, comments, shares and saves your posts got.
How to check Instagram insights?
If you want to check your Instagram insights follow the steps below:
- Open your Instagram profile and tap on the Profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen.
- On your profile page, tap on the Professional dashboard option just above the Edit profile button
- On the professional dashboard page tap on the See all option beside Account Insights and your Instagram account insights will appear on the next page.
Different analytics for different content
There are different analytics available for different contents you upload:
Analytics for Posts
There are a number of analytics for posts and they are as explained below:
- Likes: The total number of likes your posts got.
- Comments: The total number of comments your posts got.
- Shares: The total number of shares your posts got.
- Saves: The total number of saves your posts got.
- Account reached: The number of unique accounts that have seen your post at least once.
- Account engaged: The total number of accounts that interacted with your post.
- Profile activity: The total number of actions that users took on your profile after viewing your post.
- Reach: Reach and the account reached are the same.
- Impressions: The total number of times your post is seen.
- Engagement: The total number of accounts that liked, commented or saved your post.
- Profile visits: The number of times your profile is visited.
- Follows: The total number of users that followed you after viewing your posts.
- Call button taps: The number of accounts that followed the call-to-action (CTA) to call.
- Email button taps: The number of accounts that followed the CTA to email.
Analytics for Reels
There are a number of analytics for reels and they are as explained below:
- Plays: The number of times your reel was played.
- Likes: The total number of likes your posts got.
- Comments: The total number of comments your posts got.
- Shares: The total number of shares your posts got.
- Saves: The total number of saves your posts got.
- Account reached: The number of unique accounts that have seen your post at least once.
Analytics for Stories
- Reach: Reach and the account reached are the same.
- Impressions: The total number of times your post is seen.
- Exited – The number of times a user swiped away from a specific story
- Replies – The number of replies to your particular story.
- Viewers – The users that have seen your particular story.
- Forward – The number of users that skipped your story.
- Backwards – The number of users that went back from the story.
- Next Story – The number of taps to the next account’s story
‘Forward’ analytics is available only for your Instagram stories and it takes 24 hours to show the insights of your Instagram story
