When to expect The Boys season 4?
The Boys Season 4 might come out on Prime Video around mid-2024. But, there’s some uncertainty due to strikes in Hollywood. The release of Season 4 depends on resolving these issues.
Fortunately, there’s hope as the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) are working on a new contract to bring the show back in the coming year. The filming for Season 4 finished in mid-April and was initially planned for late 2023 or early 2024.
On June 29, 2023, Kripke mentioned that they wouldn’t move forward with The Boys season 4 until the WGA strike ends and a fair deal is made; he also said that the release of season 4 depends on how long the WGA strike lasts. A fan questioned this because filming for the season had already finished.
Kripke explained that the writing for the show continues even after filming, during production, post-production, and even until the final edits of episodes. Due to the strike, some post-production work, like Additional Dialogue Recording (ADR), still needed to be done.

The Boys season 4 cast
In Season 4 of The Boys, most of the main cast is returning. This includes Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Capon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Starlight, and Karl Urban as Billy Butcher.
Homelander is still alive among The Seven, so Antony Starr will be back, along with Chase Crawford as The Deep, Jessie T Usher as A-Train, and Colby Minifie as Vought CEO Ashley. Homelander’s son, Ryan, played by Cameron Crovetti, is now a series regular.
Victoria Neuman is set to become the Vice President, so Claudia Doumit’s return is likely. Other recurring characters may include Paul Reiser as The Legend and Katy Breier as Cassandra, The Deep’s estranged wife.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a significant addition to Season 4, though his role remains a mystery. Morgan expressed excitement about joining the cast.
In the upcoming season of The Boys, two new superheroes, Firecracker and Sister Sage, played by Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward, will be introduced. Creator Eric Kripke has described these characters as exceptionally unique, expecting fans to have mixed feelings about them.
The return of Giancarlo Esposito as Stan Edgar is uncertain following his removal from Vought. Nathan Mitchell’s character, Black Noir, may return with a different actor, wearing the iconic suit but playing a new character.
Maeve and Soldier Boy’s potential comebacks are being considered, with Kripke leaving the door open for their return. Simon Pegg reprises his role as Hughie’s dad, and Rosemarie DeWitt joins as Hughie’s mother. Rob Benedict and Elliot Knight also join the cast in undisclosed roles.
