5G Ultra Capacity (UC) is T-Mobile’s brand name for mid-band and high-band 5G networks.

Many users have reported that they are facing problems with the 5G UC network. If you are one of those users, then do read the article till the end to find the fixes to the 5G UC not working issue. Device incompatibility

Not all devices support 5G UC as it is a relatively new technology. Read the user manual of your mobile to know whether it supports 5G UC or not.


Limited coverage

One of the primary reasons for 5G UC connectivity issues is limited network coverage. While 5G networks are expanding rapidly, they may not be available in all areas.


Network congestion

During peak hours or in densely populated areas, 5G networks tend to slow down. This is a temporary issue and the problem is resolved once the peak hours are over.


Firmware or software issues

Outdated firmware or software can cause compatibility issues with the 5G UC network.


Misconfigured network configuration

Misconfigured network settings such as incorrect Access Point Name (APN) or network mode selections on your device can hinder 5G UC connectivity leading to 5G UC not working issue.

Check network coverage

Visit this T-mobile link to check the 5G coverage. If you are outside the coverage range, chances are that you won’t be able to use 5G on your mobile device. Move into the coverage zone or use 4G for the time being.


Reinsert the SIM

Sometimes the sim card is not inserted properly or an incorrect setting of the SIM card is causing the 5G UC network to not work properly.

Take out the SIM from the tray and restart your phone. After that, reinsert the SIM again.


Restart your mobile

A simple restart can work wonders. Update your mobile’s OS

An outdated OS is often the cause of many issues on your device. Ensure that you have installed the latest version of the OS and all the relevant apps are also up-to-date.

To update iOS, follow the instructions given below:

  • Open Settings and then tap on General.
  • Now, tap on Software Update and then Download and Install.

Android users can follow the instructions given below to update the OS:

  • Go to Settings > System.
  • After that, tap on Check for updates. Also, turn on the toggle in front of Smart Updates. This will allow the device to install updates when it is connected to WiFi automatically.

Reset network settings

Resetting your device’s network settings can resolve configuration conflicts that might be hindering the 5G UC connection.

If you are using an Android mobile, go to Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset WiFi, Bluetooth and mobile.

For iOS, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
