If you’ve recently opened an account in JPMorgan’s Chase Bank and have received a debit card alongwith it or have received a new card on request, you’ll need to activate it to begin transacting — online or in brick and mortar stores.
And if you’re unable to do that, we’ll help you in this article using three ways — online and offline. At the time of writing, you can activate a Chase debit card via their website, a call to their customer support team and through an ATM machine.
Actually, the sooner you activate your Chase debit card the better because it’s possible that the bank might deactivate the card if you don’t activate it within eight weeks as they might assume the card is not in use or lost.

How to activate Chase debit card online?
Make sure to keep your mobile number registered with Chase bank around before you begin the process below as you’ll receive an OTP for verification.
- Go to Chase.com and login to your account.
- Then tap on Services and select Activate Debit Card.
- Now, enter your 16-digit debit card number and click on the Next button.
- Here you’ll receive the OTP; enter it and your card will be activated shortly.
It can take anywhere between a few minutes to under 72 hours for your Chase debit card to be activated; however, in most cases it’s sooner than later.

How to activate Chase debit card by contacting their support staff?
If for some reason you’re facing issues with either Chase’s website or your internet connection and can’t activate your debit card there, you can alternatively also contact Chase’s customer care on either of the numbers listed below.

Keep your social security number and debit card number handy. The customer care executive will most likely also request you to provide some personal details which could include your name, date of birth and other similar information, for verification.

How to activate Chase debit card via ATM?
While the aforementioned methods should be enough to help you activate your Chase debit card, if they don’t work for you, then the nearest Chase ATM machine is your best bet.
