Paytm is an e-commerce payment system, a digital wallet, and one of the most successful startups in Indian history. Founded in 2010, Paytm has a net worth of $10 billion as of January 2018. Paytm is an essential part of the cashless transactions ecosystem in India and is accepted by merchants, e-commerce websites, and government agencies. It also provides services such as mobile recharges, travel, movie, and utility bill payments.
For paying someone through Paytm, you need to have money in your Paytm wallet. Either you can add money from your bank account or get a payment from someone which will add up in your wallet balance. To add money in your Paytm account, follow the steps below:
On Paytm App
- Select the Add Money tab on the homepage.
- Choose the account you want to add money in, such as Paytm Wallet, Paytm Bank Saving A/c or Paytm Gift Voucher.
- Enter the amount to add and tap on Proceed to Add Money.
- You can add money via credit/debit card, Net Banking, UPI, and other options available. Select the desired option.
- Provide the payment details on the secure payment page.
- Once the transaction is completed, you will be redirected to Paytm with money added in your Paytm wallet.

On Paytm website
- Click on the Paytm Wallet icon beside the Paytm Wallet icon on the top right of the web page.
- Enter the amount to add and click on Add Money.
- Choose how to do the payment for adding money via Credit/Debit card, Net Banking, UPI, IMPS or ATM card or even Paytm Payment Bank.
- Provide the payment details on the secure payment page.
- After completing the transaction, you will be redirected to Paytm with money added in your Paytm wallet.
