The ease of access of 4G internet in India following Jio’s disruptive entry into the telecommunications market aided India’s strides towards a digital economy, as most of the small and big vendors started using online payment platforms.

Owned by One97 Communications, Paytm has become one the fastest and easiest way to do digital payments. It allows you to send money from your online wallet to someone else’s in a few easy steps. If you are new to the Paytm app and can’t figure it out, here is how to add money to your Paytm wallet.

How to add money to Paytm wallet in the app?

Open the Paytm app and follow the steps given below to add money to your Paytm wallet.

• Tap on Add Money located on top of your mobile screen.
• Enter the amount you want to add to your wallet and tap on Proceed.
• Select the option you want to proceed with- saved card, debit card, credit card.

If you choose a saved card

Enter the CVV number of your card then tap on Pay. It will redirect you to the bank’s secure payment page and ask for the OTP. Enter the same and confirm the payment. A Transaction Successful message will appear and you’ll be redirected to the Paytm wallet.

If you choose a debit or credit card

Enter the card details. You can also save the card for faster future payments by checking the small box. Then tap Pay. You will be redirected to the bank’s secure payment page which will ask you to enter OTP. Enter the same and confirm the payment. Once your transaction is complete, you will be redirected to the Paytm wallet window, there you can see your added money.

How to add money to Paytm wallet on PC?

Login to your account on Paytm.com and follow the steps mentioned below to add money to your Paytm wallet.

Step 1: Open Paytm website and log in to your account by scanning QR code via your Paytm mobile app. It is located at the bottom of your phone by the name QR Scan. Click on the Proceed button on your phone. Step 2: Click on Paytm wallet icon, on the right side of the taskbar. Select Add Money To Wallet. Alternatively, you can directly click on Add Money option located right next to the wallet. Step 3: Enter the amount you want to add to the wallet and click on the Add Money button. Step 4: On the next page, you have to select one of the options to add money to your Paytm wallet — debit/credit card or any of your saved cards.

Netbanking is also an option, but it didn’t appear at the time of writing.

If you choose a debit or credit card

If you want to do the transaction via debit or credit card, select that option and provide card details. You can save the card details checking the box beside Save this card for future payments.

Then you’ll be redirected to a secure payment page where you need to provide necessary details like OTP. Once you provide all the bank details, the transaction is successful and you will be redirected to Paytm wallet that would reflect the money you have added.

If you choose a saved card

Click on the small button right next to it and provide CVV number, which you can find on the back of your saved card. Then click on Pay. It will take you to the bank’s secure payment page; this might ask you for OTP. Enter the OTP which will come on the bank’s registered phone number.

Once you confirm, Transaction Successful message will be prompted on your screen. It will then take you to the Paytm wallet, where you can see your added money.
