Apple products come with the ease of performing basic tasks quickly and efficiently. AirDrop is one such fantastic feature by Apple, which lets you share files, photos, videos, locations, websites, maps wirelessly between iOS devices like iPhone, iPad, MacBook.
In this article, we will guide you through the process of file-sharing using AirDrop feature from MacBook to iPhone.
To do so, both the iOS devices must be powered on and unlocked to complete the file transfers. The Bluetooth of your iPhone and MacBook must be turned on. WiFi must be turned on in both the iOS devices; the file transfer will still work even if both the devices are using different WiFi networks.

How to AirDrop from Mac to iPhone?
Before you Airdrop from your Mac to iPhone, first you’ll need to turn the feature on; follow the separate guides below to enable the feature on both the devices and then follow the guide below.
Turn on AirDrop on MacBook: Go to Finder, click on Go and select AirDrop from the drop-down menu. Click on the Allow me to be discovered by option. Choose Contacts Only or Everyone.

Turn on AirDrop on iPhone: Go to Settings, tap on General, and choose AirDrop. Tap on Contacts Only or Everyone.

Step 1: Select the file that you want to share via AirDrop. Then control-click (right-click) on the file. Choose Share from the list of options.
Step 2: Click on AirDrop.

Step 3: An AirDrop window will open with the nearby iOS devices listed. Choose the device you want to send the file to, in this case, iPhone.

Step 4: A message will be displayed on the iOS device. Tap on the Accept option.

Step 5: Click on Done to close the AirDrop window on your Macbook.

Step 6: Alternatively, you can go to AirDrop window by click on Go in the Finder then selecting AirDrop.

Step 7: Drag and drop the file on the visible iOS device where you want to send the file. Tap Accept on the message prompted on your iOS device.

How to receive a file on MacBook?
When a nearby iOS device attempts to send files to your MacBook, a message will be displayed in the AirDrop window, or a request will come as a notification. Click on the Accept option. The files will be saved in the Downloads folder.Â
