These days, you need a mobile OTP for almost everything, including signing in on platforms like Amazon. As an avid shopper, you may have trouble logging into your Amazon account because the Amzaon OTP is not working and not showing in your received messages folder.

In this article, we’ll discuss how to fix the Amazon OTP not working issue and explain the probable causes and fixes.

Why is Amazon OTP not working?

Here are some reasons why your Amazon OTP is not working on your mobile phone:

  • Bad network: Sometimes, you are in an area with low cellular reception. Thus, the OTP will not arrive on time until you move out of that area.
  • Issues with Amazon: There may be issues with Amazon’s servers delaying the OTP arrival.
  • Issues with your device: Some minor glitch or bug may prevent the Amazon OTP from reaching your device.
  • You are entering the wrong PIN: There could be a typo in entering the OTP, so you cannot log in on Amazon.
  • Your phone number or email is wrong or not working: Ensure the phone number and email address are active.
  • Issues with your browser: Even if you have received the OTP, you cannot sign in due to browser issues like a corrupt cache.

Amazon OTP not working: Possible fixes

Now that were have understood why you are not receiving Amazon OTP and why the Amazon OTP is not working, let us head to the fixes:

Restart your phone

Sometimes, the simplest solutions are the best. When you restart your mobile, the RAM gets cleared of the corrupt data that may hinder the OTP process.

After restarting your phone, you can try to sign in using another OTP.

Try a different verification method

If you’re receiving the OTP by text, switch it to an email, phone call, or vice versa. This will at least give you an idea of what is wrong, and you can fix that issue.

Oftentimes, Amazon sends across two different OTPs — a four-digit on the app and a six-digit on email or text. Try both the OTPs; typically, the one on email or text works.

Switch your browser

If you cannot sign in on your current browser, change the browser to see if you cannot sign in to Amazon or not. If yes, everything is well and good, and you should discard your previous browser.

However, if you’re not able to sign in to Amazon on your other browser, there might be something else that is wrong.

Check your network service provider

Call your network service provider and enquire about any scheduled maintenance or if there’s an outage in your area.

If you receive a confirmation about an outage, there’s nothing much in your hands. Just wait till the problem is resolved.

Move out of your current area

Some areas may not provide seamless network coverage for your mobile due to a lack of towers or other reasons.

It is better to move out of the area and then try using the Amazon OTP again.

Check the expiration time of the OTP

The Amazon OTP code is valid for a limited time. You will get an error if you try to use the OTP after that stipulated time.

You will then have to request Amazon for an OTP again, but this time, make sure to enter it within the time limit.

Fix issues with your browser

Google Chrome users can visit this article to clear their cache on Chrome.

Microsoft Edge users may navigate to this article for steps on how to clear cache and cookies in Edge.

Issues with Amazon servers

Sometimes, there may be issues with the Amazon servers, such as scheduled maintenance or a server outage.

It may be difficult for Amazon to provide you with an OTP during these conditions. You should visit the social media pages of Amazon for more information.

Lastly, if nothing else works, contact Amazon’s customer support for a more technical analysis of your problem.
